Recorded Playing Test Parameters

A playing test may be recorded at home using the website your device using a video recording app (audio only will not be accepted).  YOU WILL GET AN EXTRA CREDIT POINT FOR TAKING THE TEST USING YOUR DEVICE.  If you do not have access to a device or internet at home then come to the band room before or after school to record or take the test.  Recordings are due BY the date listed and you are encouraged to send them in early.  ​

Instructions for submitting recordings:
  1. The recording must be one complete uninterrupted performance of the test.  Do not stop and start over within a recording.  If you must start over, restart the recording.  Edited/pasted video will not be accepted.
  2. Make sure that the music stand is positioned so that it doesn’t block or interfere with the recording.  Video recording must show clear view of your face and instrument in playing  position.  Video recording from the side at a 45 degree angle is recommended.
  3. Brasses and Woodwinds:  Make sure fingerings are visible in the recording.
  4. Percussion:  Make sure sticking is clearly visible in the recording.
  5. To submit a video:
    1. Clearly say your name and the test you are taking at the beginning of the recording.
    2. Record a video with your electronic device and submit it to Mr. Kiyonaga at [email protected]
